DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION

Large wooden crucifix, carved by a talented unknown artist and dating back to 1440, date reported on the original cross.

 

Cross now lost and replaced by a new one during the 1954 restoration.

 

Two other crucifixions seem to exist for this great sculptor: one in the church of San Francesco in Chiusi and the other in Santo Spirito in Siena.
